Vision

Indian Occupational Therapists Think Tank (IOTTT) envisions occupational therapy as a scientific, vibrant, and well recognized health care profession in India that enables people in India to live their life to the fullest.

Mission

The mission of this group is to contribute to the development of the OT profession in India by (i) exploring the issues that influence OT practice in India, (ii) developing resources to assist with the growth of the profession, and (iii) empowering the skillset of OTs in India.

Objectives

1. To create a forum where IOTTT members can brainstorm the issues that influence the OT profession in India

2. To provide support to the OT workforce in India by developing useful resources pertaining to the Indian context of practice

3. To facilitate the understanding of OT in India by publishing official documents and position papers

4. To advance the scientific understanding of OT (pertaining to the Indian context) among stakeholders by publishing literature reviews, case studies, and commentaries

5. To support the advocacy efforts of the existing OT professional organizations in India by sending letters of support, sharing official documents, and contributing manuscripts for publication

6. To empower Indian OTs through skill development initiatives (e.g. webinars, workshops, training programs, researcher-clinician partnerships, etc.)

Values & Expectations

The Indian OTs Think Tank values accountability, ethics, integrity, and professionalism

Members are expected to: 

1. Respect fellow members (all members are equal in this group regardless of age, experience, or accomplishments)

2. Actively participate in the group’s activities 

3. Express their ideas, thoughts, and opinions

4. Express disagreements with other members opinions or ideas in a polite & respectful manner 

5. Attend the quarterly video conference call (Zoom) and complete the tasks assigned to them/accepted by them within the planned deadlines 

6. Keep group members informed of their progress on activities

*Passive members will be asked about their interest and commitment to continue in the group. If no response is received within a reasonable amount of time, the member will be removed from the group to protect the group’s integrity. 

*Members who left at their own will can request to rejoin the group. If there’s no opposition, they will be allowed to rejoin the group.
