Greetings from the Indian Occupational Therapists Think Tank (IOTTT)!
Workforce data provides a contemporary snapshot of a profession and helps with benchmarking. It also assists us evaluate the trajectory of the profession. Hence, as part of its World OT Day 2025 efforts, IOTTT is conducting a workforce survey project.
We are writing to ask for your participation in this survey project that aims to collect and disseminate OT workforce data, in aggregate form, to benefit the OT community and related stakeholders. With the recent developments in the field such as national council and growth in the number of OT colleges in India, it is essential to conduct a workforce study to capture the changing landscape of the profession.
Workforce data has many benefits. It may help practitioners effectively advocate for themselves in their workplace, assist professional leaders in advocacy efforts, and/or aid policy makers in designing policies to ensure access to safe and effective care for the public. Hence, it is very important that OT practitioners in India participate in this project.
All who work in the field of OT in India are eligible to participate in this anonymous survey. Please note that participation in this project is completely voluntary. Completing this survey indicates your consent to participate in this project. All your responses will be kept confidential. No personal identifying information will be associated with your responses in any reports of this data.

This is a much-needed and timely initiative for our OT community. With so many changes happening in India—new colleges, more therapists, and national-level developments—this survey will truly help us understand where we stand and how we can grow together. Collecting this data will support better planning, recognition, and opportunities for occupational therapists across the country. I strongly encourage everyone to participate and contribute to the future of our profession.
