Dr. Lakshmanan Sethuraman moderated Saturday Night Chat #10 on Professional Development/Continuing education related to Occupational Therapy in India on 28th October 2023. The discussion focused on continuously updating one’s knowledge and skills and the importance of lifelong learning for effective service delivery. Instilling curiosity and encouraging to engage in continuous learning will lead to skill enhancement required for clinical practice, academics, research, and management. Participants suggested that continuing education is the way to ensure evidence-based practice. Participants shared the need to create opportunities for case-based learning and ensure safe and ethical practice. The discussion also focused on developing content concerning evaluation and intervention specific to the Indian cultural context and the role of different professional communities in professional development.
